My name is Napa, I’m the Lantern office dog, and I’m an F2B Miniature Goldendoodle. Those letters and numbers just basically mean I’m extra hypo-allergenic. I have real hair, don’t shed etc. My dad likes that, because pets usually make him sneeze and cough. Not me!
Anyway, my breeder was Kathryn Lee at Make Way for Doodles. My mom and dad, Amanda and Patrick thought she did a great job socializing me and getting me used to noise. I slept through my first set of fourth of July fireworks!
I was born in May 2011. My mom’s name was Moonglow (Goldendoodle), and my dad’s name was Prince Charming (Miniature Poodle). Below is my mom (left) and my grandfather, Prince Hiawatha (right)! Cool black ear, huh?
Here’s a few photos of me growing up, thanks to Kathryn! I’m the little curly-haired one waving at the camera!
And on June 2nd, 2011, my mom and dad came to pick me up. They met Kathryn at the vet after I got my shots. Here’s my dad’s face. He was a proud dad instantly!
They brought me directly to Colt State Park to run around and play. I cried for a little while, but I got over it real fast once I realized I probably just became the luckiest, most spoiled-rotten pup in the world. No kids! Yay!
Since that day, I’ve traveled the across the country, visited the Grand Canyon, walked the market in Seattle, climbed the cliffs of Fort Bragg, hiked the trails of Yosemite, visited the wildlife of Yellowstone, went digging for emeralds in North Carolina (see the photo of me colored orange below), went boating a bunch of times (below), played at dog beaches in Florida (below), gone wine tasting in Virginia (below) slept on plenty of hotel beds, visited dozens of dog parks and taste-tested a bazillion different dog foods (did I mention I’m a VERY picky eater?)
I’ve also gotten my share of bad haircuts. Anybody know a good Goldendoodle barber out there that doesn’t want to shave me like a poodle?
This one was the worst.. that’s my unimpressed face.
So now that we’re friends, welcome to my blog! This is the place where we’ll be posting all the neat stuff we find and learn along the journey of dog ownership. Expect lots of videos and reviews of dog toys (I go through a lot!) and dog foods (lots of those too!). Just a little space here to tell stories and remember them. Thanks for reading!
