Introducing the JG Real Estate & WebLinc Office Dog

We all know I love office dogs! I’ve met many full-time working pups, a handful of part-timers, but never – until now – have I interviewed a working dog with two different jobs! This Philadephia beauty works part-time at JG Real Estate and WebLinc. Somehow Daisy still has time to fit in socializing, too! I’m so glad she fit me into her schedule, because I think you’ll be impressed by this hardworking pup.

Napa: What breed are you?

Daisy: I am a Pit Bull, but mom and dad say I might be something else too. Ridgeback? Weimaraner? I don’t know really, but I love my Pit Bull friends!

Napa: It must be so tough working two jobs. Tell me more about working at both JG Real Estate and WebLinc.

Daisy: It’s exhausting! I go to JG Real Estate two-to-three days a week and go to doggy daycare or my dog friend Toro’s house on other days. Daddy just started a new job where dogs are welcome, but I’m nervous about new co-workers. I’m friendly so I think they’ll like me.

It can be tough spending time between offices. Daddy’s previous job was in an actual office building, and I loved meeting new humans in the elevator. JG Real Estate is on the street level, so I spend most of my time in the window people-watching or lounging behind mom in her chair. Oh, and watching out for visitors of course.

Napa: What is a typical day like in the office?

Daisy: My main job is making sure the FedEx and UPS man aren’t up to something. The mailman always has cookies though, so I know he’s okay. I spend most of my time checking if anyone needs help with their snacks. I love yogurt cups, and I’m good at getting all the little bits everyone else misses. I hate seeing food go to waste.

Once I finish my morning routine, I get prepped for lunch. It’s a lot of work keeping track of who’s eating what, and making sure that everyone knows when the microwave is finished. Then mom or dad takes me out for a short walk, since I haven’t figured out how to use the same white thing they do. I’m still a little girl; it’s intimidating!

After I make sure all of the sandwich crusts and bits of lunch meat are gone, I usually settle into a long afternoon nap in a sunny spot. My favorite is the back of the couch at JG Real Estate, where I can see out of the window. If I’m especially snoozy, I curl up behind Mom in her desk chair. Dad stands all day, so I usually just lay out on the floor wherever he is.

Napa: Do you prefer one of your jobs more than the other?

Daisy: I love when other dogs come to the JG Real Estate office for playdates. I have two dog friends there, and we love to run and run. It’s very small there, and I wish all the people would get out of the way so we could really run around. It’s kind of like the dog park agility course where I go with Daddy on the weekends.

Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?

Daisy: I love sitting at Daddy’s feet while he works. He massages my legs with his foot and feeds me treats.

Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?

Daisy: If all of my work is finished, I like nosing around in the garbage. I think recycling is important, so pulling out all the paper products is my little way of reminding people to put them in the blue bin. Well, I don’t really know what blue is, but that’s what Daddy says!

I’m also a big fan of meetings. If people are in the conference room, I’ll hop up on a chair to help keep everyone on track and make sure we’re following the ruff, eh hem, I mean rough, agenda.

Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?

Daisy: I got really bored and tried to garden a little bit at Daddy’s old job once. I had trouble digging up the Gardenia, so I just ended up pruning it. Daddy says you’re not supposed to eat the green parts, but I don’t know what green is either, to me it’s all shades of grey!

Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!

Daisy: When I’m sleeping sometimes, Daddy plays this one. I’m not sure what they’re saying, but I love bigger dogs, and they seem like so much fun!

Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?

Daisy: I live with Mom and Dad in South Philadelphia. The best part of that is when Dad walks me around the city. We go for long walks across the bridge to New Jersey, South Philadelphia, out along the river trail, or through Center City. I love the people and all the smells. Daddy hates when I pick up treats from the sidewalk, but I can be sneaky!

Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?

Daisy: I love yogurt. Please let me have your yogurt cups. Or lunch. Or anything you’re eating? Are you eating something? What is it? Can I have some?

Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?

Daisy: Find a good sun spot and lay in it. When you run around all day people seem to get annoyed, but when you snooze all afternoon, they’ll come by and pet you.
