Meet the Canine Who Runs Epic New Media

One of the best parts of doing these office dog interviews is meeting puppies from around the world! Buster, today’s pup, comes all the way from England. This funny guy works at Epic New Media, and loves feet, treats, and lounging in a bean bag chair during the work day. Thanks so much for taking the time to interview with me, Buster. I had so much fun!

Buster

Napa: What breed are you?
Buster: I’m a Shih Tzu crossed with a Bichon Frisé, at least that’s what my ex-owner told me. I think I could be a bulldog, though, because I look like a warrior!

Napa: Tell me more about working part-time at Epic New Media.
Buster:
It’s so much fun. Marty started bringing me in last month after reading about other office dogs, and man it’s good to get out of that house. There’s only so much sofa one dog can chew up! Now I get attention from the whole team and usually spend a little time under all of the desks there. Kelly doesn’t like it too much because her feet taste so good … oops!

Napa: What is a typical day like in the Epic New Media office?
Buster:
Well, Epic New Media is a marketing agency, so I usually roll in with Marty (more like run as fast as I can) and try to listen in on all of the incoming phone calls so I can start answering the phone myself. The team doesn’t want that for some reason! I see lots of happy, friendly people coming in for meetings all day and see even more cups of tea being made. The best part of the day is lunch time, of course, when I get to go for a walk with the gang to get some food in town and I get to sniff a lot of stuff. So much fun!

Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Buster:
Although Kelly’s feet do lure me in more often than she’d like, I do stay loyal to my master Marty, and I usually spend most of my time under his desk. Sometimes I watch him when he’s reverse engineering a competitor’s link profile in Ahrefs and it just makes me want to take a nap. Click, click, click. Clickity click.

Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important tasks), how do you keep busy?
Buster:
At Epic, we have this blue bean bag in the corner called the reading corner (nobody reads there) so if nothing exciting is happening I’ll usually go and take a nap and dream about chasing butterflies in the sunshine.

Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Buster:
Shoes. Lots of shoes. It frustrates the team, but I’m a dog, they need to understand that us dogs need to chew shoes. It’s just the way it is. Other than that, I have been known to dip my head into Rob’s drawer where he stashes his Monster Munch … BEEF FLAVOUR!!!

Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!
Buster:
I prefer compilations over individual videos, and this version is one that makes me super proud to be a doggy!

Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Buster:
I live in Liverpool City with Marty. It’s a wonderful place and although it’s mostly stone, there are some beautiful parks where I go to mark my territory and chase the wind. IT ALWAYS GETS AWAY! Epic is in heart of the city in the Royal Liver Building, one of the most stunning buildings in the whole UK with an amazing history. I feel very lucky to be able to pretend I work there.Buster2

Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Buster:
I love them, and I’m sorry that I ruin their shoes. I hope they know I don’t mean to make them angry, but they make me so happy! 🙂

Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Buster:
Try not to get in the way too much when meetings are taking place, but other than that enjoy yourself and get as much attention as you can from everyone in the office. If there are 200 staff, you really need to schedule them in without their knowledge so that you can get through them all in one day.

Napa: Who Tweets more – you or the humans?
Buster:
Unfortunately, the humans, but I do tweet when the team is out on lunch sometimes like when I wake up on my bean bag and they’re gone. They’re not too happy with me about it because they usually return to find lots of selfies in their timeline. I like to count up the retweets and favourites with a smug look on my handsome furry face. I’m so popular.
