A couple of months ago, I wrote a post about my favorite dog collars. After it went live, I learned that one of the companies, Lucky Dog Collar Co., has an office dog named Brandi. I absolutely love when awesome companies have super dogs, and this is the perfect example. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me, Brandi. Thanks, Rachel, for allowing her to participate.
Napa: What breed are you?
Brandi: I am a perfect blend of Pitbull and Dingo! AKA, Pingo or Dingbull, if you will! My mom thinks I could also have Australian Cattle Dog in me too because of my spots!
Napa: Tell me more about Lucky Dog Collar Co.
Brandi: Lucky Dog Collar Co. was started by my mom in hopes to save enough money to open an animal rescue in the future. She loves animal; she has served on SPCA boards, volunteers often, and has a bachelors degree in Animal Behavior! She started off by making paracord products, then added leather products, and now we also have cool stuff like bowls and wine glasses! Lucky Dog Collar Co. is very active in the rescue world, and often donates a percentage to local rescues, as well as attends events that they host!
Napa: What is a typical day like in the Lucky Dog Collar Co. office?
Brandi: This is a second job for Rachel (my mom), so when she gets home from her other full-time job, she will either work on the website, take pictures of the products for the website, or make orders. We will also go for runs, and I will catch tree branches because I love jumping.
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Brandi: I sit under the coffee table in front of where Rachel makes her collars and leashes, does that count?
Napa: Yes! When you get bored around the office, how do you keep busy?
Brandi: We have a balcony, so I love laying out in the sun out there and barking at the occasional leaf that blows by. I also take my mom on long walks because she totally needs exercise.
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Brandi: Oh, man. I love food. I am pretty good about not eating anything I am not supposed to – unless I am not getting enough attention, and then I will grab some Kleenex from the trash can and slowly chew it under Rachel’s feet. Bully sticks are my favorite though, and I think Rachel likes those too because they last longer than 5 minutes. I did get gourmet dog cookies for my 9th birthday in February though. Those were fabulous.
Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!
Brandi: Hmm … Can I cheat? I think this is the best video out there. It’s not a funny video but I mean, how can you not love this video?

Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Brandi: I am from Buffalo, N.Y. My favorite thing is that we have four seasons. I can romp in the snow (even though Rachel HATES the snow), play in the leaves in the fall, swim in the Niagara River in the summer, and eat flowers in the spring! I also love visiting my brother Rusty (Golden) who is nearby at Rachel’s dad’s house – we play for hours!
Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Brandi: You know I am the boss, right? I just like to let you think you are.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Brandi: Realize that you got the life!
Napa: What is your collar of choice? Have you ever liked a collar you were testing so much that you begged your boss to keep it?
Brandi: Wow, this is so tough! I love the paracord collars because I can choose any color I want for the collar. I especially like the Sabres colors and wear it during hockey season. I like to think it brings them good luck! I also love the leather collars though, too, because it makes me look so classy. You should see how many double takes I get when I have my shiny new buckle polished on my leather collar!
