I’m so excited for today’s interview with the office dog from Zingy Pet! Not only is this my very first time interviewing a Spoodle, but this is also my first time introducing a pup who originally comes from Australia. I wonder if his bark has an Australian accent! Thanks so much to the humans at Zingy Pet for allowing me to get to know Coopa. I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading his answers as much as I enjoyed interviewing him.
Napa: What breed are you?
Coopa: I am a Spoodle. My mom is a English Cocker Spaniel, and my dad is a Standard Poodle. I was born in Australia and moved to the United States in 2009.
Napa: Tell me more about working at Zingy Pet. I’d love to learn more about the company.
Coopa: The humans at the Zingy office are the best when it comes to pet care. They are passionate, knowledgable, and all about pets. They’ve actually been creating pet products and pet-care services for 25+ years. The latest offer – which is Zingy – is game changing. I’ve had dog walkers in the past, and some of them haven’t even taken me out for a walk! They show up, take the money dad leaves on the table, and just leave. At Zingy, it’s all about creating that transparency which really builds trust for pet owners.
Owners can view the walk in real-time on their phone so they know we’ve been walked. They also get real-time poop and pee notifications. At the end of the walk, I get my picture taken, and the dog walker writes a small report to send to my human owner so everyone is in sync at all times.
Napa: What is a typical day like in the Zingy Pet office?
Coopa: I actually get to the office at 8am daily. At 9am, a Zingy walker collects me and my sister, and we go for a 1 hour walk. When I get back, I take a nap under the CEO’s desk. Then, after lunch it’s meeting after meeting (tech meetings / interviews / training / educating). I let everyone on the team know what I want to see and feel when it comes to my needs and the needs of my fellow mates (dogs) that use the Zingy service.
At 4pm, another Zingy walker comes to get me, and we go running for an hour. At 6pm, I go to the park and chase the ball before heading home for dinner and a good nights sleep.
The cutest thing happened the other day. My owner bought home a small dog bed thinking I’d take up sleeping in it. Reality is – I’m just more comfortable sleeping under the sheets in the king bed between my mom and dad.
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Coopa: Honestly, I throw myself about the office. I enjoy mostly sitting under the CEO’s desk, but if he’s out I’ll sit with customer care, tech, marketing, or even under the graphic design team’s desks. Each of them gets such joy having me about, so I don’t think it’s fair to just camp under one desk.
That being said, I also go from meeting room to meeting room. We have a lot of meetings around here. The team here is always looking to improve the Zingy Pet service, so I’m always on the go with them!
Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?
Coopa: Bored? No, no, no. It’s quite a fast pace here, and I’m always on the go. I don’t have time to get bored! However, I do wish I had more time to sleep and relax. I really understand why those humans say TGIF – weekends are relax and recover time for me!
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Coopa: We’re very lucky here. We have a constant supply of Indigo Treats, thanks to the team at PetSafe. They are all natural, USA-made treats. They are so good and so healthy, I don’t feel guilty getting them out of anyone at anytime on the team.
Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Coopa: Originally born in Australia, my owners moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to grow a dog potty business. I helped them invent something called the PetLoo.
There’s not much to not like about sunny Southern California, but I do miss my family and mates down in Australia.
Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Coopa: Don’t ever stop the walks, treats and pats coming. They make my day as much as they make yours.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Coopa: If you can, try get adopted by the team at Zingy. That way you can help me help them help other dogs by brain storming, creating, and delivering some of the coolest services that us pets need.
Napa: Have you ever personally tested any of the dog walkers from the app?
Coopa: Yes. I rotate between 6-8 of them depending on the time of day and actual day I go out. You see, some of these dog walkers at Zingy Pet have busy schedules. So I’m lucky that there is a pool of trusted, trained, and educated walkers in my neighborhood that can rotate when my owner places a walk request.
At the end of the day, I need to get out and exercise. The nicest thing here is I’m not stuck on a specific walker’s availability. I need to go, and I’m lucky that there is someone trusted, trained, and educated no matter what time of day, or where i am.
While I see different personalities, the service, for the most part, is exactly the same. It’s really a win for me and my owner!
Napa: What advice would you give to dog walkers from a canine’s perspective?
Coopa: If you’re not Zingy trained and certified, I’m not sure we can have a relationship. Luckily Zingy Pet does like to have experienced dog walkers on the team, so it’s not all lost. Just join Zingy, and together with your passion and Zingy’s trust, experience and education can make a massive difference to us pets.
