Last week I was so fortunate to introduce you to two of the coolest work dogs who are also well-versed in magazine life. This week we’re back again with two more pups from Alberta Venture Magazine. Meet Samson and Riley. These dogs are rounding out our two-part interview series with a company who understands just how helpful puppies can be in the workplace.
Napa: What breed are you?
Samson: Golden Retriever
Riley: My humans have been told I am a Black Lab/Belgian Shepherd cross, but that’s my secret.
Napa: What is a typical day like in the Alberta Venture Magazine office?
Samson: I come in and make sure I run around to say hi to everyone, they need to know I’m here! Then I go to all the offices with treats, need my morning snack. I usually nap under my humans desk for a couple hours (I’m still a pup and need my naps!) On really awesome days, Charlie’s human takes us to the dog park together at lunch, I love playing with him. If Charlie isn’t here, my human takes me for a long walk. That tuckers me out, and I sleep all afternoon, it’s a tough day going to work.
Riley: I’m new to this whole office thing, so sometimes I get a little bit nervous. Everyone is so nice, and they are quiet and gentle with me. I usually hang out with my human, since she makes me feel comfortable. A couple times a day we go around to meet everyone, and I usually get treats, so I love those visits! I go to the dog park at lunch with my human so I can meet new dog friends. Im still young, so that really tuckers me out, I nap the whole afternoon!
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often at the Alberta Venture Magazine office?
Samson: Kathy’s desk – she has the best treats!
Riley: My human Natalie. I like to be close to her.
Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?
Samson: I visit with everyone who has treats, of course, my human also brought lots of toys to play with.
Riley: My human brought all kinds of toys to play with. I love bottle crunchers. Naps take up a lot of my day also.
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Samson: My human brought in Pup-cakes for my birthday to share with all my office friends. They were delicious! Peanut Butter & Bacon – yum.
Riley: I love Snausages and Beggin!
Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!
Samson: I love watching TV and movies where I see my own people! Golden Retrievers are very funny.
Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Samson: I live in Edmonton. I love the fields behind our house because I can chase birds.
Riley: I was originally from Fort McMurray, but I was rescued and brought to Edmonton to live with my humans! I love my new house. It’s so warm, and I have my own bed. I love that I have a backyard to run around in with my new brother.
Napa: If you could tell your Alberta Venture Magazine human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Samson: More treats, always more treats.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Samson: Learn where the treats are, and visit often!
Napa: Have you ever written an article for the magazine? If so, share it! If not, what article would you LOVE to write?
Samson: I got to be a model for an article on mobile vets. I loved posing for the magazine!
