Meet Blaze, the ultra-cool office dog who works at a full service digital agency. He understands and appreciates the office-dog balance of working hard and playing hard with his co-workers at ROI·DNA. Trust me – finding that balance can be tough. I was so excited to talk to such a playful Australian Shepherd, and am very grateful his human parents let Blaze interview with me. Thanks, two-leggers!
Napa: What breed are you?
Blaze: Australian Shepherd – and no, I do not have a tail 🙁 Also, I am a boy dog.
Napa: Tell me more about working at ROI·DNA.
Blaze: ROI·DNA is my second home. I love being surrounded by lovely human and dog friends. I take full advantage of the unlimited supply of dog treats and even sneak some of the human snacks sometimes. People here are often willing to take a minute break to play catch with me – which I greatly appreciate. Mid-day walks are fun too: some days I stroll down the Embarcadero and check out the Giants stadium, and on other days I hit up the dog park a block away from the office. I also love our “get-out-of-the-office” trips…our next one is in Tahoe!
Napa: What is a typical day like in the ROI·DNA office?
Blaze: My BFF Matt brings me to the office, and right when I arrive, I run around saying hi to all my buddies. Matt gets busy with human meetings, so I’ll lay in front of his office and stare at him through the glass, trying to look as cute as possible. Then I’ll go to whoever calls my name and roll on the floor belly up so the humans can take cute pictures of me. I’ll often rummage the garbage for leftover food since we always have really good food. Then eat, potty, repeat!
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Blaze: Sleeping under desks is for small dogs.
Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?
Blaze: I play video games with my friends! Pool and poker are fun too.
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Blaze: Garbage! BEST. MEAL. EVER.

Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Blaze: Fairfax. I love when Matt takes me to Iron Springs Brewery.
Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Blaze: That they should stop staring at computers and pay attention to me. I try to tell them with my eyes everyday. It doesn’t always work.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Blaze: When you lay on your back you get pet 45% more. I’ve done the math.
