Introducing the imagineear Office Dogs!

I would love to work in a two-dog office, especially if I had a playful pal. There’ve been a few other times we’ve had an additional dog in the BuzzFarmers office, and let’s just say that the humans didn’t get much work done on those days, but we had loads of fun. Today I’ve got a great surprise for you. I’m not just featuring one work dog – I’ve got two for you! Meet Teal and Poppy from imagineear

Napa: What breed are you?
Teal: I’m a Working Cocker Spaniel.

Poppy: And I’m a West Highland White Terrier.

Napa: Tell me more about working at imagineear. I’d love to learn more about the company.
Teal: The humans are always asking questions. “Where are you going, Teal?” “What are you eating?” “Why do you look guilty?” Turns out that humans actually like to know a lot about everything if they can. Where I work we make multimedia guides, audioguides, and apps so the humans can find out about things when they’re in stadiums, museums, and even hospitals.

Napa: What is a typical day like in the imagineear office?
Teal:
We get in at 9:00 am. As soon as we arrive, I check to be sure that everything is in order in the office by doing a few laps at high speed. I like to monitor the humans closely for most of the day to make sure they’re doing everything to my standards. They spend a lot of time reading scripts, emailing translators, coding, going to recording studios, and sometimes visiting the places where their tours are.
Poppy: I’m a very hands-off manager. I mostly sleep.

Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Poppy:
I have my own desk with a bed underneath.

Teal and Poppy nappingTeal: I’m supposed to share the bed under the desk with Poppy. She sometimes lets me, but to be honest, my favourite place to sit is just under the humans’ desks, in exactly the spot where they want to put their feet. It means I’m absolutely ready to pop up and maintain unwavering eye contact with them if they start eating something that looks delicious.

Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?
Teal:
In between managing the humans, I like to try to fit myself into their handbags.
Poppy: Sleeping.

Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Teal:
The humans think I ate a cake wrapper once. The accusation was never proven. I wouldn’t like to comment.
Poppy: I’m watching my figure.

Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!
Teal:
We love this video of Fenton chasing deer around Richmond Park, which we sometimes get to go to.
Poppy: I have huge admiration for Fenton’s tenacity and extreme selective hearing.

Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Teal:
We’re both from Parsons Green in West London. I like it because it has some superb puddles.
Poppy: I like it because it’s a seven minute commute from my bed in my house to my bed in my office.

Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Teal:
Rub my belly! I actually tell them that all the time.

Poppy: If I want to tell the humans anything, I’ll wait until they’re on the phone trying to talk to a client.

Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Poppy:
Remind your humans when it’s almost time to go home. I find that around 17.45 (5:45pm) is the best time to start limbering up for this. If they don’t listen, quietly exit the building. Don’t let two flights of stairs and a confused receptionist deter you.

Napa: What’s your favorite imagineear project that you’ve ever worked on? Do they have dog-only mobile media experiences?
Teal:
I’m a big football fan. Mostly because there’s a ball. We make audioguides for Arsenal, Queens Park Rangers, and Liverpool Football Club. I haven’t been allowed to go to visit them with the humans, because dogs aren’t allowed. That is a shame, because the field that the footballers run around on is in tip top condition – perfect for rolling on.
Poppy: We are pushing to have more projects aimed at or featuring dogs, but haven’t had much luck. Van Gogh Museum? No dogs. The Beatles Story? No dogs. National Gallery Singapore? I’m going to guess no dogs.
