I love finding out what other office dogs do at work. One of my humans at Buzzfarmers knows a lot about cars, so I thought introducing an automotive office dog like Benny, from Brahler Tire and Auto Center, would be fun.
Napa: What breed are you?
Benny: I’m a BeaBull. My mom is a Beagle and my Dad is an English bulldog. In one word I’m a Mutt.
Napa: What is a typical day like at Brahler Tire?
Benny: I get up & have my butt scratched right off the bat. Then I wait at the kitchen table & have my breakfast with the other Brahler kids (I love cereal).
I jump into car, where I try to call shotgun but sometimes I have to share the front seat with one of the kids. When I arrive at our office I get lots of hugs and petting from the fellas that work at our shops and our customers at Brahler Tire and Brahler Lube Centers. I have a little bit of a following and have been asked to get my picture taken with a few of our great customers!
Then I get right to work!
Napa: Tell me more about working at Brahler Tire.
Benny: I have to look through all waste paper baskets and pull all the recycling papers out of the recycling boxes. It’s also my responsibility to give free puppy hugs to who ever comes into office.
My other responsibilities include getting on couches and pulling off all the couch cushions.
Napa: Do you ever get a chance to work on cars?
Benny: I don’t work on cars, but I know that my family has been in the automotive business for over 40 years! I do have this odd OCD thing about any type of tires moving. I so like to bite at them! I got ran over that way by a car when I was 6 months old… but I’m fine now.
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Benny: I love to lay under any desk on top of computer cords, its fun when the person at the desk can’t figure out why the can’t get that computer to work…I pulled out the cords!
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Benny: I eat anything. A lot of them are things that most people don’t realize I eat, like plastic, pillows, computer cords, phone boxes – really they all have a nice flavor.
Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Benny: I really just like things my way; if they could be better about learning the way I want things done, I would go easier on them.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Benny: Try to keep the gas under control. I’ve been told I have the worst gas and have been know to clear a room.
