It’s no secret how much I love my job. I’m so proud to be one of the many work dogs! Being the Housecarl at BuzzFarmers is a dream position, and I take my job very seriously. However, I like to take a few vacations a year so that I don’t get burnt out on my neighborhood-watch and human-greeter responsibilities. When I do, my pal Lucy fills in for me. It’s so nice to know there’s another pup who knows the ropes. Lucy and I don’t often work together, so it was nice to collaborate together on this interview. Thanks for everything you do, Lucy. It’s great to have you on the team, even if it is only part-time.
Napa: What breed are you, and how old are you?
Lucy: I’m the cutest Rat-chi you’ll ever meet! My mommy says that means I’m part Chihuahua and part Rat Terrier.
Napa: Tell me more about working part-time at BuzzFarmers.
Lucy: Well, I started to come to work with my mommy to help her take care of all the office stuff when you went on a road trip. I love to come here and keep all of the BuzzFarmers humans happy.
Napa: What’s a typical day like in the office?
Lucy: First I take the long car ride in with my mommy. I help her drive sometimes by laying on her chest. She makes me sit on her leg though because she says she “can’t see,” but I think it’s because I am a better driver than her. When we get to the office I use the potty before going inside, then I run to the office because I know where the door is! I come in a greet everyone and look for food. Then I make sure everyone does what they’re supposed to do and try and get pet in between. My mommy tries to boss me around, I think she forgets that I’m the one in charge.
Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?
Lucy: If you need to find me, I’m usually sleeping on my mommy’s chest or sometimes on her actual desk in between her and that silver thing called a computer that she pets more than me. I also make sure my Auntie Erin doesn’t feel left out, so every once in a while I go visit her and let her pet me.
Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important in the office tasks), how do you keep busy?
Lucy: I like to beat up my stuffed giraffe!!! He is so much FUN. I also really love to sleep and snuggle my mommy. I know she loves to have me around while she does her work.
Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?
Lucy: I love to lick vanilla pudding containers! I always hope that my mommy brings pudding for lunch. I also lick everything, including coffee cups, on my mom’s desk, you never know when there may be something good inside!
Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!

Lucy: I just saw this the other day and I couldn’t stop laughing!
Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?
Lucy: I’m from Western Mass. I really love to visit my grandma’s house and run around in the big back yard. I think it has the best smells!
Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?
Lucy: Please let me taste test ALL of your food and don’t forget to give me kisses. I love kisses.
Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?
Lucy: Sometimes you have to be quiet when your human friends are working, so try not to make your toys talk.
Napa: Thanks so much for taking my shifts when I’m either on vacation or working remotely. What was the best thing you’ve witnessed on your neighborhood watch?
Lucy: Oh, it’s no problem! I love working with you, but I know we get too loud together when the humans are working. The best thing I’ve witnessed so far has been when mommy’s BuzzFarmers co-workers threw her a surprise birthday party!

Having read this I thought it was very enlightening. I appreciate you spending some time and energy to put this informative article together. I once again find myself personally spending a lot of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile.
